The Guardian Plan
typically requires that
those appointed to carry
weapons hold a concealed
handgun license (CHL),
but beyond that, the
written regulations vary
by school district and can
be very broad. Conversely,
the School Marshal
Plan has very specifc
requirements.
1. Carthage High School is one of six campuses that now allow selected staf members to carry concealed weapons. 2. Ashleigh Edge and Kacey
Maines are seniors at Carthage High School. They grew up in a rural community where kids learn to shoot at an early age, and feel safer knowing
that someone on campus is armed. 3. Notices are posted on the doors on each Carthage ISD campus.
