The young scientists are investigating the growth of crystals in outer space. http://nisd.net 2 Dallas ISD outpaces other urban school districts on AP exam Recent Advanced Placement (AP) exam results show Dallas ISD is outperforming other large urban districts. A minority student in Dallas ISD is more than twice as likely to earn a qualifying score of three or higher on an AP exam as compared to other large U.S. urban school districts. https://thehub.dallasisd.org 3 Canutillo football coach wins 100th game Canutillo High School Head Football Coach Scott Brooks reached a landmark in September, when he led the Eagles to their 100th win. Bush Institute San Angelo ISD's Robert E. Lee Middle School is one of three schools selected to receive help implementing high-quality, research-based strategies for advanced reasoning, data management, dropout prevention, and instruction in reading, writing, and math. It's all part of the George W. Bush Institute's Middle School Matters (MSM) program. www.saisd.org 5 Amarillo school district recognized for energy efciency Amarillo ISD received a $181,609 rebate from Xcel Energy for upgrading heating and air conditioning systems and installing more energy-efcient lighting. The energy- efciency eforts are part of the 2013 school bond program. www.amaisd.org 6 College Station student earns highest-possible score on ACT A&M; Consolidated High School senior Shilpa Saravanan earned the highest-possible score on the ACT exam. Saravanan earned a composite score of 36 on the exam.
